# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • It tastes indulgent—creamy, sweet, perfectly golden—while delivering 20 grams of protein that keeps hunger at bay.
  • Takes barely 20 minutes from bowl to plate, perfect for busy mornings or when you want something special without fussing.
  • The Greek yogurt trick makes the custard richer than traditional French toast, so even one serving feels substantial.
02 -
  • Don't skip the salt—it sounds small, but it's what prevents this from tasting flat and one-dimensional.
  • Stale bread is your friend here because fresh bread absorbs too much custard and turns mushy instead of creamy inside; if your bread is fresh, leave it out uncovered for a few hours.
  • Medium heat is non-negotiable; turn it up and the outside burns before the inside cooks through, turn it down and you end up with pale, dense bread instead of that perfect contrast.
03 -
  • Cottage cheese works just as well as Greek yogurt if that's what you have, and it creates an even silkier custard.
  • High-protein bread takes this from good to exceptional—look for brands with at least 5 grams of protein per slice for a real boost.
