Fluffy Yogurt Overnight Oats (Print Version)

Creamy oats combined with a fresh strawberry swirl for a light, textured morning dish.

# What You'll Need:

→ Oats Base

01 - 1 cup rolled oats
02 - 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
03 - 1/2 cup milk, dairy or non-dairy
04 - 2 tablespoons chia seeds
05 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
06 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - Pinch of salt

→ Strawberry Swirl

08 - 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, diced
09 - 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
10 - 1 teaspoon lemon juice

→ Toppings

11 - Fresh strawberries, sliced
12 - Chopped nuts or seeds
13 - Extra yogurt

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Combine diced strawberries, maple syrup, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until strawberries break down and mixture thickens, approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
02 - In a medium bowl, mix rolled oats, Greek yogurt, milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until thoroughly combined.
03 - Whisk oat mixture vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes or use a hand mixer on low speed to incorporate air and achieve extra fluffiness.
04 - Divide oat mixture in half. Spoon first half into two jars or glasses. Add generous layer of strawberry swirl. Top with remaining oat mixture and finish with additional strawberry sauce swirled on top.
05 - Cover containers and refrigerate for a minimum of 8 hours or overnight.
06 - In the morning, top with fresh sliced strawberries, nuts, seeds, or additional yogurt as desired and serve immediately.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • No morning cooking means you can actually sleep those extra ten minutes instead of standing over the stove in a fog.
  • The texture is surprisingly light and airy, nothing like those dense, gummy overnight oats that feel like eating wet cardboard.
  • You can prep two or three jars at once and have grab-and-go breakfasts for half the week.
02 -
  • Don't skip the whisking step—I learned this the hard way when I made a batch without it and ended up with oats that felt dense and flat instead of cloud-like.
  • The strawberry swirl must cool completely before layering, or it will warm up the oats and throw off the whole texture.
  • If your oats seem too thick in the morning, thin them with a splash of milk rather than adding more liquid the night before.
03 -
  • The key to fluffiness is actually whisking air into the mixture—don't skip this or you'll end up with dense oats that disappoint you every single morning.
  • Make your strawberry swirl the night before and let it cool completely in the fridge, so when you layer everything it stays cold and the textures stay distinct.
